Festival Top

Description

Materials needed for the Festival Top

• 4.5mm circular needles with a long cable (60, 80, 100 or 120 cm)
• 4 stitch markers
• A darning needle
• A stitch holder of some sorts
• A suitable yarn. See section ‘yarn’ to read more about possible amounts with colour combinations.

Yarn

You can choose to either:

• Hold together 3 yarns of a 4-ply cotton like this one.  In this case, you will need 4 (4) 5 (5) 6 (6) 7 (7) 8 skeins of 50 grams. 
• Hold together 1 yarn of a 4-ply weight with 1 yarn of an 8-ply weight like this one.  In this case, you will need 3 (3) 3 (3) 4 (4) 5 (5) 6 balls of the 8-ply weight, and 2 (2) 2 (2) 3 (3) 4 (4) 5 skeins of the 4-ply weight. You do not need to use this exact yarn, you can also use leftovers in similar weights.

Gauge

A 10x10cm swatch is 16 stitches by 23 rows in 4 by 4 rib stitch. This is measured when the swatch is washed  in the washing machine. The piece should be measured laying flat, not stretched out.

Sizing

The top has about 22.5 centimetres of negative ease, meaning the top will be 22.5 centimetres smaller than your actual bust size. These the sizes of the finished garment.
